For 2015-2016, the deadlines for open enrollment were:

November 1st: First day of open enrollment, meaning first day to start applying.
December 15th: Last day to apply for insurance with an activation date of January 1st.
January 15th: Last day to apply for insurance with an activation date of February 1st.
January 31st: The very last day you can apply for insurance for the year (otherwise you’ll have to wait until next open enrollment, nine months from now).
After January 31st, the only way you can apply for insurance is through a qualifying event. A qualifying event is something like job loss, marriage, etc. Read our blog post on qualifying events to learn more.

In other words, open enrollment started on November 1st and ended on January 31st.

Word on the street is that open enrollment for 2016-2017 will be October 1st, 2016, to December 15th, 2016. However, these dates can change, so it’s important to keep yourself up on future dates.
