Yes, age DOES affect the cost of health insurance.

Your age is one of five factors in how your health insurance premium is calculated. Other factors include: location, tobacco usage, plan category and family enrollment.

According to HealthCare.gov, being older in years can make your health insurance premium three times higher. Sucks, right? This unfortunate truth is because, statistically, as you age, you’re more likely to use your insurance. (You have every right to be shaking your fist in the air right now.)
